Please note that this information can be found in greater detail in our Documentation section.

Registration

Register with DirectOne to create an account which can be used for testing purposes before you are ready to go live and take real payments. Remember that you pay nothing at this stage.

To register, simply visit the Registration Page and fill in your details. Once registered you will receive an email confirming your registration and containing information on how to use your DirectOne account.

Apart from your company information, which can be changed later in the Members section, you will be asked to choose an ACCOUNT NAME and two PASSWORDS.

The Account Name

This is simply an account name with DirectOne. Nobody sees it except for you and DirectOne. It is analogous to a username and must be all one word consisting mainly of letters and numbers and is case sensitive. The Account Name is inserted in to the HTML forms that communicate with DirectOne as a way of identifying your business.

The Administrative Password

This is the main password for you as a merchant and gives you access to all aspects of your account via the Members section. This password is often used in conjunction with your PIN numbers which you receive by email when you register.

The Technical Password

This password is primarily for you to provide to web site developers. It allows them to change colours, headings and other design elements of your account (via the Members section) but prevents them from accessing order or business details. This password can be disabled or changed by the account administrator.

DirectOne recommends registering, integrating and testing yuor DirectOne account while your bank processes or changes your merchant facility to work with the system.

Customisation

Once you have registered, there are three things you can do to get your DirectOne website going.

Generate your order form

Use the Order Form Page or Documentation to produce a DirectOne-enabled order form.
You can customise your order form using the Member's tools to make it appear contiguous with the rest of your site (for example, you can change background colours or images, button styles, text styles, and so on).

Customise your Payment Page

When a customer orders products from your web site, your order form calls the DirectOne secure server and generates an SSL-encrypted page where the customer can securely enter their credit card details. Using our Member's tools you will be able to control how the credit card submission form appears (in order to make it as easy as possible for customers to make purchases), as well as being able to edit your Account information provided during the registration process.

Testing

Your new DirectOne should initially be pointed to our test service. Use the following information to test:

  • Address: https://vault.safepay.com.au/cgi-bin/test_payment.pl
  • Credit Card Number: 4444333322221111
  • Expiry Date: 08/08 (or any valid date)
  • CVV: 123
  • Name on Card: Test (or any valid name)
This allows you to perform all the actions of an activated account, but with some information masked and the payments clearly tagged as TEST.

You can also retrieve the details that are part of your test orders from the Members tools.

Activation

When you are satisfied that DirectOne has integrated completely with your web site, you can visit the Member's tools to activate your DirectOne account.

You are required to supply the following:

  • Internet Merchant Numbers issued by your bank
  • Signed Agreement with DirectOne
  • Your first annual payment for the service
Once this is received, DirectOne will configure and test your account. This typically takes less than 2 working days and DirectOne will contact you if there are any issues regarding this process.

DirectOne will contact you via email once your account is ready.

You can then change the ACTION of your DirectOne forms from

https://vault.safepay.com.au/cgi-bin/test_payment.pl

to

https://vault.safepay.com.au/cgi-bin/make_payment.pl

NOTE: If you use a shopping cart system or the Direct Interface then you do not need to change the action of your form.
